British Pop Star Dane Bowers Is Facing Possible Prison Time After He Was Convicted Of Assaulting His Former Fiancee During An Altercation In January (15).
The former Another Level singer, 35, was slapped with one count of assault by beating in May (15), after clashing with model Sophia Cahill in a fight in front of her son at their one-time family home in South London.
Cahill claims her ex struck her in the face, leaving her with a bloody nose, yanked her hair and grabbed her throat, but Bowers pleaded not guilty to the charge, insisting he flailed his arms in self-defence during a scuffle but made contact by accident.
However, District Judge Andrew Sweet found Bowers guilty at Croydon Magistrates' Court in Surrey, England on Monday (14Sep15), stating, "I am satisfied that he assaulted her in the manner she described."
The case has been adjourned for sentencing on 15 October (15), when the star could face time behind bars for the count.
Bowers and Cahill split in late 2014, but were living separately at the house the singer shares with his parents at the time of the incident.
