Danielle Fishel

Danielle Fishel, former Boy Meets World star, has just married fiancé Tim Belusko, but unfortunately trouble struck on their very first week of marital bliss. To be fair, “trouble” might be a bit strong – tTitter critics probably register as more of a mild annoyance. Still, Fishel chose to respond to the tweets questioning the age gap between her (32) and her new husband (25).

Days after her wedding, Fishel just cant seem to catch a break.

The actress remarked briefly on the subject, explaining that her husband’s age doesn’t matter, because of his maturity and various other admirable qualities. She commented: "People are giving me s**t for marrying someone younger than I am," Fishel wrote on Sunday. "Tim is mature, responsible, loving, & kind. Way to judge people, Internet.”

Girl Meets World Casting News - Who Is Sabrina Carpenter?

Danielle Fishel Sabrina Carpenter Ben Savage Rowan Blanchard

More casting news from Girl Meets World, the Boy Meets World spin-off show being developed by the Disney Channel. 13 year-old Sabrina Carpenter has been cast in the role of Maya Fox, Entertainment Weekly report. Maya is the best friend of Cory and Topanga’s rebellious teenage daughter Riley Matthews (played by Rowan Blanchard) and Carpenter already has history with the Disney Channel.

Sabrina Carpenter is already making her name as a singer. She’s signed to Hollywood Records and her first single ‘Smile’ was included on the Disney Fairies CDs Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust and charted in Radio Disney’s Top 30. Sabrina has also been cast in Fox’s comedy The Goodwin Games, as well as guest starring in an episode of the Disney Channel’s top show Austin and Ally, some time in the forthcoming months.

Production is all set to start on Girl Meets World next month, with a view to becoming a staple part of Disney Channel’s 2013-14. There has already been so much press attention on the new show and as it stands, the producers would have to do something pretty terrible to the pilot to not get it commissioned, surely? The pilot will star the original stars of Boy Meets World, Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel as Cory and Topanga.

Girl Meets World Has Its Leading Lady, Or, Girl

Danielle Fishel Rowan Blanchard Ben Savage

Since the popular 90s show Boy Meets World finished, speculation has been rife as to whether a spin off would be made. So when Girl Meets World was announced, naturally, speculation turned towards who would play the girl meeting the world.

Disney has cast 11-year-old singer-actress Rowan Blanchard in the title role, as Girl Meets World producer Michael Jacobs told EW. "As soon as Rowan walked into the room, I was reminded of why Ben Savage was loved as Cory Matthews," he said. She will play the daughter of Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel), who, as the Disney Channel announced, will be reprising their roles as beloved '90s TV couple. "Rowan is real and accessible, and I am hopeful this girl is about to meet a world that will love growing up with her as well," added Jacobs.

"No one wanted to really cash in, if you will, too early, or no one really wanted to do something that was going to be cheesy. So when we all decided to get together for this, there were a lot of discussions," Savage told the Rolling Stone. "I've gotten [notes] from a lot of people who are worried that the show won't hold up. That we shouldn't do it because it's going to ruin a lot of their childhood memories. We're really working hard and doing everything we can to make sure that this is going to be something special and funny, and hopefully it'll make new memories for a new generation."

Boy Meets World Star Danielle Fishel Graduates College Despite Fear

Danielle Fishel James Franco Drake

When Boy Meets World ended in 2000, Danielle Fishel was 19, and had already missed out on a year of college which meant it took her a long time to pluck up the courage to go. Via her tumblr blog today, she's revealed that she is now a very proud college graduate with a degree in Psychology, from the California State University. It certainly wasn't an easy ride for her, and she explains why.

"I was too afraid" she said, "of being the old lady in class, of being whispered about, and especially of not remembering how to do simple math equations." However, she adds: "After my 27th birthday, I made the decision to stop letting fear be a factor in fulfilling my dreams and living the life I wanted, so... I enrolled." Although her fears came true- she was the oldest, whispered about and not so hot at math, she adds: "I persevered and sometimes I wasn't the oldest person in class, some of the whisperers became good friends, and I did so well in math, I even became a tutor. And that is how I met my fiancé. :)" Alls well that ends well.

She's not the only celebrity to head back to college a little later in life- James Franco also headed to college in 2008 to complete a degree in English at Columbia University. In 2002 Steven Spielberg got his degree at the age of 55, ironically, in Film- like he needed it. Queen guitarist Brian May even managed to get himself a PhD in physics- genius! A little less impressively, this year Drake managed to graduate from highschool, which is just as worthy of celebration. Anyway, congrats to Danielle! And we're looking forward to her return as Topanga in the Boy Meets World spinoff, 'Girl Meets World', currently in production.

Boy Meets World Star Danielle Fishel Graduates College And Gets Engaged!

Danielle Fishel

Danielle Fishel sure is having one busy lead up to Christmas, as the former Boy Meets World star not only graduated from college, but also announced that she has gotten engaged to her college sweetheart.

Fishel, who will be returning to the screen in the Boy Meets World spin-off Girl Meets World next year, decided to return to education four years ago, when she was 27, to study for a degree in psychology from the California State University. In those four years, not only has she been invited back to TV-land to reprised her role as Topanga and gained a college degree, but she also met her new fiancé - whom she met while tutoring math.

Danielle announced the news that she was finally a first-time college graduate through her personal Tumblr, writing "I am officially a college graduate! I took my last two undergraduate finals today and I am so happy, relieved, and proud." She also urged people who may be reluctant to return to education, as she very much was, to consider it all the more as she could sing the praises of being returning to school enough.

'Boy Meets World' Evolution, Who's Returning For 'Girl Meets World'?

Ben Savage Danielle Fishel

Anyone that grew up in the '90s has been avidly following the developments of the Boy Meets World spin off series, 'Girl Meets World'. The premise is the return of Cory and Topanga with the added addition of their teenage daughter. The final series of Boy Meets World ended with their wedding and having felt they'd pushed the story as far as it could go for that time, after seven years, they chose to end on a high. Thirteen years on and the couple are returning, now with a daughter whose own escapades we'll be following when it returns in February next year.

As exciting as this is, we're all a little apprehensive as to whom will be returning from the old series. Obviously both Danielle Fishel, who played Topanga, and Ben Savage, who played Cory, will be back and they're pretty pivotal to the series. However, Rider Strong who played Shawn has said that, for now, he's not involved. In a statement for Entertainment Weekly he explained both his relationship with the show and whether he's returning for the spin off. "Boy Meets World was a defining aspect of my life, and I cherish those seven years. It was never just a job - on a personal level, many of my best memories and friendships were formed because of it," he said. "So I am extremely happy for Ben and Danielle to be able to continue the story. At this point, I have no official involvement in Girl Meets World... I think it should be it's own show. It will be about Cory and Topanga, their daughter, and a new set of characters. It's the next generation. And I, for one, can't wait to see it evolve."

The theme of evolution was prevalent in Danielle Fishel's statement as well. "It will have familiar faces, familiar themes, and familiar messages.  It will also have new faces, new themes, and new messages... We started at the same place with BMW but we evolved and we evolved quickly.  For those of you who knew and loved BMW, please allow this show to evolve as well. Stick with us. Give us a chance." We will Danielle, we will. As yet there have been no word in regard to anyone else returning, although there have been some hints that there'll be a few appearances in the future there is no concrete word either way.

The Disney Channel seem pretty serious about the new show, which would see Ben and Danielle once again playing Cory and Topanga, however, this time things are a little different. The couple are parents to 13-year-old daughter Riley, the new protagonist of the show. Fischel confirmed her involvement in a lengthy blog post on her Tumblr page, writing, "First of all, let me say that you, the fans of Boy Meets World, have been awesome. That word is often used incorrectly by people, including myself, on a daily basis but you have truly been awe inspiring. You, yes, even YOU, are the reason that Girl Meets World WILL BE MADE. J" Though Disney appear to want to keep the authenticity of the original series, they are yet to offer Rider Strong - who played Cory's friend Shawn - a role in the pilot. He revealed on his website, "At this point, I have no official involvement," though graciously added, "I am extremely happy for Ben and Danielle to be able to continue the story.Girl Meets World will be, and I think it should be, it's [sic] own show. It will be about Cory and Topanga, their daughter, and a new set of characters. It's the next generation. And I, for one, can't wait to see it evolve."

Danielle Fishel Ben Savage

Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel are to return for a spinoff of the best loved 90's ABC comedy Boy Meets World, about a Philadelphian who grows up from a young boy to a married man.

After weeks of rumors, ABC has finally acknowledged that it is working on a pilot called 'Girls Meets World'. "I'm going to be a father! Well, on TV at least. The "Boy Meets World" sequel is officially happening," Ben Savage tweeted Monday. We're guessing he hasn't stopped jumping for joy for the past 24 hours, given that 2006's Car Babes represents his last notable role. J" The pair will reprise their roles as Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence, though they're now parents of a 13-year-old daughter named Riley, the new protagonist of the new. A nationwide casting search is underway to fill that role.

The pilot is to be produced by Michael Jacobs, executive producer of Boy Meets World, though it's still in the development phase. We predict healthy numbers for the premiere, and not much after that.

Dorm Daze Review

Bad
National Lampoon used to be a name associated with juvenile yet genuinely funny comedies like Animal House and Vacation. But don't stop reading just yet: National Lampoon is actually still around!

Sadly, today's Lampoon is pretty much a factory for terrible teen sex comedies, few of which I daresay you'll have heard of. They have names like Senior Trip, Repli-Kate, and Golf Punks. In recent years only Van Wilder has merited a theatrical release.
