Foo Fighters Star Dave Grohl Sobbed When He Watched Florence + The Machine Performing At Britain's Glastonbury Festival As They Replaced His Band On The Bill.
The rockers had been scheduled to headline the Friday night of the iconic event in June (15) but they were forced to pull out after Grohl tumbled offstage during a show in Gothenburg, Sweden and broke his right leg.
Florence Welch's band was bumped up the bill to replace Foo Fighters, and when Grohl later watched their performance he was overwhelmed with gratitude to his good friend for stepping in.
He tells Q magazine, "Oh man, we met ages ago and immediately hit it off. So I was totally looking forward to playing with them (on the same bill) at Glastonbury. When we cancelled and they were searching for a replacement I prayed they'd just move them to the top of the bill because they f**king deserved to be there... The day after the gig, someone sent me a link to the performance and I cried like a f**king baby. It melted my f**king heart. I am forever indebted to them. It meant so much, you have no idea."
