Dean McDermott Checks Into Rehab - Is Marriage With Tori Spelling On The Rocks?

Dean has entered rehab to "address some health and personal issues"

Dean McDermott has checked himself into rehab, less than a month after the Canadian-American actor was hampered by rumours suggesting that he had had been cheating on his wife Tori Spelling. The news was first reported by People, who stated that Dean was entering rehab to "address some health and personal issues" and published a statement from the actor addressing his admission to rehab.

"I am truly sorry for the mistakes I have made and for the pain I've caused my family," McDermott begins his statement. "I take full responsibility for my actions and have voluntarily checked myself into a treatment center to address some health and personal issues. I am grateful to be getting the help I need so I can become the husband and father my family deserves."

McDermott is under minimal surveillance at the rehab centre and is allowed to leave the facility when he likes in order to see his four children at home, TV Guide go on to report. The stint in rehab comes after Dean was accused of cheating on his wife Tori with a 28-year-old woman in Toronto.

These reports followed various stories from throughout 2013 that suggested the couple were in financial turmoil and could potentially be heading for divorce. Tori wrote an open letter to Star at the end of the year addressing these rumours, stating that she and Dean are determined to stick together for the sake of their children, however this was followed by further reports stating that Tori was much more devastated about the rumours that she was letting on.

His latest move, although done for the benefit of his family, has once again raised questions regarding the McDermott-Spelling union. Even if the stint in rehab is a success and Dean's demons are addressed and resolved, there is still doubt surrounding their marriage, doubt that will most likely be continually backed up with tabloid probes into their private lives and Dean's apparent cheating.
