Mia is walking along the street one day, when she notices shredded photos fluttering to the ground. As she's examining one of them, she hears a loud thud behind her. Turning, she sees the body of an old woman, who has clearly thrown herself from the nearby building - the very building that Mia lives in.
Mia is alarmed but thinks no more of it until she's inside. There, when she looks at the photo in her hand, she is unnerved to see that it's a picture of her ex, Ludwig. Mia tracks down the building's custodian, Max and asks for entry into the old woman's flat. Once inside, everything looks strangely familiar. and a framed picture provides the answer to the mystery: the woman who jumped to her death was a future version of Mia.
Mia is disturbed at what lies in store for her. Max offers to help and escorts her into the building's rickety elevator, which is also a time machine. Mia must travel backwards and forwards in time in order to find out why she commits suicide in the future, and how to stop it. To do that, she must confront Ludwig - a prospect that is both thrilling and filled with dread.
