It's half-way through the season of Dancing With the Stars: the dances are becoming more complex, the stars are stressed and the competition is fiercer. With eight competitors left at the beginning of last night's (Monday, 21 October) episode and a cruel clause added to panic even the coolest of celebrities, who was eliminated this week?

Elizabeth Berkley
Elizabeth Berkley with her dance partner Val Chermerkovskiy.

The judges, Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli, decided a "Switch Up" improvisation dance should be added in order for the competitors to gain extra points. The music at any point in a couple's performance could be switched up so the dancers were forced to think on their feet - quite literally.

Here are the final 8 competitors and how they fared on DWTS:

Elizabeth Berkley performed a cha cha with her partner Val Chermerkovskiy. Her Showgirls side was back as the dance was sexy and sultry. We saw a different side of Berkley this week as she burst into tears during rehearsals when she remembered her struggle to find work after appearing in the sexually explicit 1995 film. However, her Showgirls training came in handy this week as the judges went wild and awarded the couple a trio of perfect tens.

Amber Riley struggled with the Samba and admitted to crying a great deal when she found the dance especially hard. She's also suffering from a knee injury and wore a brace whilst performing with her partner Derek Hough. Hough seemed to cheer her up though -and everyone else- by dancing topless and out-sexing even Berkley with his thrusting. Goodman was the only judge to criticise the performance, he awarded the couple an 8, whilst the other two judges gave 10s.

Derek Hough
Amber Riley's dance partner Derek Hough danced the Samba shirtless.

Brant Daugherty and his partner Peta Murgatroyd performed a tango which was filled with passion and sexual tension. The judges loved the "aggressive" nature of their dance and awarded the couple two 9s and a 10. Daugherty's Pretty Little Liars co-star, Janel Parrish, made an appearance during rehearsals (are friends and family of the stars starting to complete with Sharon Osbourne's near constant presence in the rehearsals of her son Jack?)

Snooki revealed a completely different side to herself when performing the foxtrot. She managed to perform the dance with a style and grace few knew she possessed. Bruno commented on the fact stating she had "never been so sweet and elegant." Despite wishing for a 10 in rehearsals, the judges awarded Snooki, and dance partner Sasha Farber, three 9s.

Jack Osbourne struggled being macho when playing the part of the bull in the paso doble. Nevertheless he made a concerted effort and swirled a red cape around his head. Of course, the Osbourne clan including Sharon, his sister Kelly and wife Lisa were in the audience. Overall the performance was impressive considering how concerned Osbourne was with his role in the dance. The judges gave him two 8s and a 9.

Jack Osbourne
Jack Osbourne was not overly comfortable performing the paso doble.

Leah Remini, after receiving the lowest score last week, continued to doubt her abilities. Her partner Tony Dovolani continued to encourage her and reminded her of how far she's come. Jennifer Lopez, who Remini is also fond of reminding everyone is her "friend," visited the couple in rehearsals and reminded Remini that dancing should be fun. Their quickstep pleased the judges who awarded them with three 9s.

Corbin Bleu seems to have lost his edge slightly this week. He performed a Viennese waltz to the Game of Thrones theme song. Karina Smirnoff was pleased with Bleu's enthusiasm. Unfortunately the dance may have been too unconventional as the judges' comments were short and they awarded the couple two 8s and a 7.

Bill Engvall and Emma Slater performed a tango which the judges were not overly pleased with. Similarly to the Game of Thrones song, the couple's choice of music was inappropriate as they danced to 'Beef Burgers in Paradise' by Jimmy Buffet. In honour of the selected song, Engvall and Slater decided to put a "redneck" slant on the tango. The judges awarded the couple two 8s and a 7.

No one! It came down to Jack Osbourne and Bill Engvall but the judges decided that both couples were safe... until next week.
