Battleship Trailer

The ocean is vast. Many parts of it are unexplored by man; those parts make perfect hiding places for an armada of unknown origins.

When this armada makes itself known, the Hopper brothers are dispatched between two ships. Lt. Alex Hopper is assigned to the USS John Paul Jones and his brother Stone is the Commanding Officer on the USS Sampson. They sail to Pearl Harbor, where the alien fleet makes itself known.

No one is sure what to make of it. Weapons specialist Petty Officer Raikes thinks it's just another routine exercise. A group of soldiers venture out and touch the strange object, inadvertently releasing torpedoes.

The torpedoes speed towards land and destroy buildings around the world. The battle with the aliens has officially begun but for some, it isn't unexpected. Raikes reveals that her dad predicted an event like this but it is unclear if he knew just how huge and devastating it would be.

Battleship is based on the Hasbro game of the same name. The aim of Battleship is to try and sink your opponent's battleship. The film is directed by Peter Berg (Hancock) and stars Barbadian singer Rihanna in her debut feature, as Petty Officer Raikes.
