Beverley Knight and Killian Donnelly star as Felicia Farrell and Huey Calhoun in the West End's rock and roll show Memphis The Musical. The show is about Huey, a white DJ, venturing into a black 50s bar named Delray's and trying to become the next big radio station DJ, while falling in love with a black girl named Felicia along the way. There's a rift between what's classed as white music and what's classed as black music, but it's Huey's dream to bring the two together believing that everyone should just enjoy the music together. And while Felicia is worried what people will think if they are seen together, Huey is determined to break that prejudice and show people just how much he loves her.
In a rehearsal teaser trailer for the show which lands in London's Shaftesbury Theatre this week, the stars are seen practising their smooth moves and their solid tunes in their rehearsal studio, performing the songs 'Underground' and 'Steal Your Rock 'n' Roll' from the musical itself. Joe DiPietro and David Bryan are responsible for this Tony Award winning show, the latter of whom is best known as a member of rock group Bon Jovi, and the former for his long-running Off-Broadway production 'I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change'.
