Public Enemies was a name given to bank robbers and some of the most wanted criminals during the 1930's depression. John Herbert Dillinger was arguably the most wanted man in the United States, he learnt his trade from some of the best bank robbers in the country and went on to rob dozens of banks with his newly formed group of bandits 'The Dillinger Gang'.

Dillinger formed an image for himself as one of the quickest bank robbers ever known, known by the state as a trouble maker and a dangerous criminal, some of the public viewed him much differently, as a modern Robin Hood character. The fresh law force called The FBI named Dillinger Public Enemy Number One, and made it their mission to capture him.
