Director Jonathan Liebesman has promised 'Clash of the Titans 2' will be a ''more natural, grounded'' fantasy film than the first movie.
'Clash of the Titans 2' will be like "'Gladiator' with lots of creatures".
According to filmmaker Jonathan Liebesman, the movie - which sees Greek warriors fighting against Gods and mythical creatures - will be more "grounded" than last year's fantasy epic starring Liam Neeson and Gemma Arterton.
He said: "It's going to be a much more natural, gritty, grounded fantasy movie. Just think 'Gladiator' with lots of creatures, I'm excited. It's a good opportunity to do something awesome with some great actors in a great genre."
Sam Worthington recently admitted he is "surprised" a sequel to the film was commissioned.
The Australian actor - who played the role of Perseus in the much maligned 2010 remake - is glad the original film got criticised as it means a follow-up doesn't have to stick to the same storyline.
He said recently: "The thing is the first film we got criticised a lot for, but now the good thing about the sequel is that we are not beholden to an original story and we can learn from the mistakes of the first and hopefully improve on it.
"I mean there is a surprise that we are making a sequel because of the critical drubbing."
'Clash of the Titans 2' is scheduled for release in March 2012.
