The Inbetweeners 2 is smashing records - but does it mean a third movie is being lined up?
James Buckley, the star of The Inbetweeners series and subsequent movies, admits that a third film could happen should writers Damon Beesley and Iain Morris get the script right. The quartet, made up of Buckley, Simon Bird, Joe Thomas and Blake Harrison, have been forthright in their intention to leave the Inbetweeners story in Australia - the setting of the sequel - though with box-office records once again being smashed, they may receive an offer they can't refuse.

"I was proud of the last one and thought, "We're not going to top that",' he told Metro. "Then the guys came to us with this idea of going on a trip and that's absolutely brilliant but I don't think it can get much bigger than Australia.
"It's very much up to the writers. They won't come up with a better idea than this one but if they did I'd be up for it."
"As soon as the four of us are together we're just silly imbeciles, basically. Like puerile, childish buffoons. We have so much fun making it.
"It was a bit of a competition to see who could be the worst behaved."
The boys are back
The Inbetweeners 2 took £2.7 million on its opening night in UK cinemas - a record for a comedy film. The haul suggests it is likely to be a bigger success than its processor and only Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and Lord of the Rings: Return of the King have performed better on opening night.

Nevertheless, lead star Simon Bird remains unconvinced by the prospect of a third outing for the boys.
"It would be nice to go out on top," he told the BBC.
"We only considered doing the script because the script was as funny, if not funnier, than the first one."
