Tintin is a young and enthusiastic journalist who is accompanied on his exploits by his pet dog Snowy and Captain Haddock. When Tintin buys a model ship as a present for his good friend Captain Haddock, he doesn't realise just how special his find is. After giving the present to the ex-sailor, he explains that this isn't any normal model ship, it's a replica of The Unicorn, a ship sailed by Haddock's ancestor Sir Francis Haddock.
After finding the first clue to Sir Francis Haddock's treasure, both Tintin and Captain Haddock set out on an adventure to find the Unicorn's bounty, however it seems that Tintin and the good captain aren't the only ones who know the secrets of the Unicorn and the dubious character will go to many lengths to get to the treasure before Tintin.
The Adventures of Tintin was originally printed in a French news paper, but after the strip gained popularity Georges R'mi started to publish comic books. The adventures of Tintin have become one of the most loved comics in the world and were translated into over 80 languages.
Having originally bought the rights for Tintin in 1983, it's taken Steven Spielberg along time to make this film a reality. Shot in performance capture 3D technology the film was produced by Peter Jackson, and written by Steven Moffat, Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish.
