The Possession Trailer

A loving and happy young girl called Em Brenek buys an intriguing antique box whilst at a yard sale with her Mom and Dad, Clyde and Stephanie. Em becomes increasingly obsessed with the box when she opens it and her behaviour begins to get more and more volatile and aggressive. Little did any of them know that the box, which was extremely difficult to open initially, contained a dibbuk; a dislocated malevolent spirit known in Jewish folklore to possess its host and eventually kill them.

This savage horror film was produced by Sam Raimi who first came to our attention after his eighties demonic classic 'The Evil Dead'. It is based on a true story about a man who bought an antique cabinet on eBay and left it in the basement of his furniture shop. Soon after, he received a hysterical phone call from his sales assistant who claimed that somebody was there breaking glass, swearing and locking the exits. No intruder was found and, when he took the box home, he started having recurring nightmares about a violent demon which left him with mysterious bruises in the mornings.

The film is set to terrify UK cine audiences on August 31st 2012.
