Jennifer Lopez brought the showbiz world to a standstill when she announced her shock split from husband Marc Anthony on Friday. It has now emerged that the couple were scheduled to attend the glittering BAFTA gala in Hollywood, and were guests at the top table, where they would have been seating with Prince William and Kate Middleton. Jennifer Lopez dumped her husband just hours before, and instead brought along her mother Guadalupe, a former teacher from the Bronx. According to the Daily Mail, Royal Aides and celebrities were baffled at Marc Anthony's no-show, and it did not go unnoticed that Lopez had removed her wedding ring.
All became clear the following Friday, when J-LO released a statement to E! Online explaining that her marriage was to be dissolved. The statement read: "We have decided to end our marriage. This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters. It is a painful time for all involved and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time." The couple got married in 2004 and have 3 year-old twins, Max and Emme. At this stage, the facts on the split are still unclear. There has been rumours in recent weeks that Marc Anthony was unhappy the J-LO was prioritising her career over their young family.
