Police in Georgia are investigating the theft of a rare $500,000 (£333,330) camera which was stolen en route to the set of Jim Carrey's new Dumb And Dumber sequel.
Production on Dumb and Dumber To was delayed on 12 October (13) after crewmember Leo Tamalgo's car was broken into by thieves as he and his co-workers stopped at a restaurant in Peachtree City for breakfast.
The expensive rented equipment was due to be taken to Peachtree DeKalb Airport, where it was set to be attached to a helicopter to film aerial shots for the comedy.
Cops believe the thieves had no idea what was inside the car when they allegedly broke into the Suv (Sports Utility Vehicle) and made off with the pricey camera and a computer.
The owners, based in Miami, Florida, have now offered up a $5,000 (£3,330) reward for the safe return of the camera, of which there are less than a dozen in existence.
The equipment has also been deemed useless to the thieves because only the camera itself was taken - all the other parts essential for operation were left behind.
Tamalgo tells local Atlanta news station Wsb-Tv, "We're hoping someone who saw something steps forward or even the person who took it makes arrangements for it to be returned somehow."
Carrey and his co-star Jeff Daniels reunited last month (Sep13) to begin shooting the latest installment of the cult comedy franchise, in which they portray lovable yet daft best friends.
