The heavy metal rocker recently took to Instagram.com to tease his latest project - an unexpected venture with the veteran country singers.

Davis shared a photo of the new trio in the recording studio, along with the caption, "Working with Big and Rich on a country music project."

He added the hashtag, "#Bakersfieldsound", a term used to refer to the style of country music made by Bakersfield, California, native Merle Haggard. Davis also calls Bakersfield home.
