The fourth instalment of the 'Insidious' has already hit theatres and is turning out to be a major spookfest. 'The Last Key' takes parapsychologist Elise Rainier back to her own childhood where she discovers just how her connection to the spirit world began. 

Elise Rainier is faced with the her most terrifying haunting yet as she returns to her childhood home in New Mexico; a place plagued by the most deadly and hidious of all spectral creatures. This time there is a new occupant, and while the last thing she wants to do is re-visit the horrors of her past, she has sworn to protect the innocent living from the parasitic realms beyond.

So she ventures forth, with a new determination to end the curse that she has felt since she was a small child. But in order to do so, she most go deeper into the Further than she has ever gone before. With demons at every turn, if she doesn't do this right, there's no way back.

It's 1952 and a routine shipment is being undertaken by the crew of an oil tanker travelling along the coast of Cape Cod. However, little did they know of a disastrous oncoming storm that would brutally attack New England like never before. As bad luck would have it, the crew on board the vessel find their tanker suddenly ripped in half by the hurricane and they are forced to await the Coast Guard for rescue unable to move from their sinking boat. 30 men are trapped, not knowing whether anyone was coming to rescue them, not knowing whether or not this was their last night on Earth. After all, it would be a suicide mission for any lifeboat to attempt a rescue in these conditions, but that's exactly what happens. A feat of outstanding bravery for this East Coast Guard.

Computer genius Will Caster is involved in a technological program exploring the world-changing possibilities of artificial intelligence. Their goal is to create a machine that will have knowledge beyond the minds of human beings collectively, while also being able to reach Transcendence; a state in which this artificial mind can begin to feel human emotion. After a particularly enlightening seminar in which the goals of the project in terms of medicine are highlighted, he is shot suddenly. At first it appears that he is going to survive as the bullet didn't hit any major organs, but doctors quickly realise that the attack was much more insidious as it has been laced with radioactive matter. With only weeks to live as research labs across the country are being targeted by a radical anti-technology activist group called RIFT, Caster must find a way to live. When his wife Evelyn manages to upload his consciousness, it seems his project has been fulfilled - but it soon becomes clear that the power he is about to wield will put the world at risk.

Will Caster is a computer scientist researching technology into the possibilities of artificial intelligence. After a gripping seminar where he described his desire to create a machine with not only an intelligence that exceeds human beings collectively, but also experience emotion - a state in which he refers to as Transcendence - he is gunned down by a radical activist who is part of anti-technology group RIFT. With the bullet not penetrating any major organs, the main damage the organization seems to have done is virtually attack research computers in all the main labs of the country, but when it turns out that that bullet was laced with radioactive material, Caster is given just weeks to live. Determined not to die, Caster and his wife Evelyn work out a way to upload his consciousness so that he can communicate even beyond the grave. However, not everybody is so sure of what has happened; a concern which becomes more and more warranted as Carter's mind begins to evolve.

'Transcendence' is the unnerving sci-fi directorial debut of Oscar winning cinematographer Wally Pfister ('The Dark Knight Rises', 'The Italian Job', 'Inception'). Initially written by Jack Paglen (who will be writing 'Prometheus 2'), it has been re-written by Pfister, Jordan Goldberg ('Inception: Motion Comics' TV series) and Alex Paraskevas ('Walker Payne') and is set to be released in the UK on April 25th 2014.

The Collector is a brutal masked serial killer who enjoys torturing, mutilating and killing his victims through booby-traps after luring them to secret locations to collect them. Despite being the subject of an immense manhunt, he manages another ruthless slaughter by rigging up a set of traps at an underground nightclub. Elena is persuaded by her friends to attend the club, but becomes the only survivor after every other attendee is murdered. She is instead kidnapped and taken to an old hotel, again lined with traps. The only person who knows where she is is Arkin; an ex-con who is still traumatised by his own experiences and narrow escape from the Collector. He is persuaded to help look for her after being approached by Elena's wealthy father and his team of headstrong mercenaries, but will they find her in time to save her? And will they struggle to hold themselves together along the way?

'The Collection' is the grisly sequel to 2009 horror flick 'The Collector'. It has been directed by Marcus Dunstan ('Saw IV', 'Piranha 3DD') who co-wrote the screenplay with his previous writing partner Patrick Melton and it has already been released in cinemas in Fall 2012 in the US.
