Kanye West is collaborating with Vogue Italia.

The rapper has been invited to work on a new project for the fashion bible by Editor-in-Chief Franca Sozzani, who praised the budding designer's versatility and creative thinking.

Franca told E! News: ''We just [figured] out a new project for next. It's about Africa, art and music. He's more than music. He's not only about music.''

The fashion maven revealed she had already had meetings with Kanye - who is thought to be working on another clothing line - but remained tight-lipped about the nature of the project.

Franca was being honoured for her humanitarian work by the Dream For Future Africa Foundation at Spago in Beverly Hills, where Kim and Kanye were among the VIP guests.

Kim explained: ''We wanted to come out and support Franca, who has been a good friend of Kanye's. She's stunning. She looks like a Dolce & Gabbana ad, a classic beauty.''

The stars were out in force to support Franca, who has been a driving force for change in the fashion industry since heading up Italian Vogue 1988. Her list of accomplishments includes becoming a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations, breaking high fashion taboos by launching Vogue Curvy for plus-sized bloggers and helping found non-profit organisation CHILD PRIORITY.

Model-and-actress Amber Valetta said: ''She is so important to our industry. I don't think people realize, because she's so humble and quiet, how much she's really changes and had an impact on pop culture...She has inspired so many great artists to do great work.''
