Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are scrambling to complete work on their Los Angeles home before putting it on the market.

The couple, who have 12-month-old daughter North West, have decided to sell the $11 million mansion they bought last year in the affluent Bel Air neighbourhood after more than a year of renovations, as they are fed up of waiting for it to be completed, but don't want to lose a fortune on the property.

A source told E! News that the project has become ''too overwhelming'' for the newlyweds and they ''want to sell very soon.''

The insider said: ''They are such perfectionists that staying up-to-date with the latest appliances and home systems, etc., has been exhausting for them. They want to sell very soon, but they might just finish the house enough to get it on the market without trying to make it their perfect home.''

It was previously reported that the couple, who got married in Florence, Italy in May, had enjoyed the renovation process so much that they are planning to launch a property renovation business.

But the source insisted: ''They have no interest in becoming professional flippers.''

The duo are expected to start looking for a new home in the area very soon, as they have been living with Kim's mother Kris Jenner at her home in Calabasas, California since the 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star gave birth to North in June 2013.

Kim - who sold her own stunning Beverly Hills villa for $5 million last August - was recently spotted viewing a $21 million apartment in New York City.

Kanye currently owns homes in Soho, Paris and has yet to sell his bachelor pad in the Hollywood Hills, despite slashing the price by $500,000 last August.

He previously put his house - which he bought in 2003 - on the market in 2010 for $3,995,000, although he didn't end up selling it.
