Katie Couric has publicly apologised to Kim Kardashian for hurting her feelings in a recent interview and insisted her baby gift to North West was genuine.
Kim Kardashian's media adversary has apologised for hurting her feelings.
Veteran US journalist Katie Couric insisted she still thinks that the reality TV star, who gave birth to her daughter, North West, with boyfriend Kanye West, in June, is ''a really sweet person'' after Kim lashed out at her for being two-faced.
The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star was furious when Katie claimed she doesn't understand why Kim and her family are famous because Katie recently sent her a baby gift.
Posting a picture of the gift on Instagram, along with a note from Katie congratulating them on their new arrival, Kim wrote: #IhateFakeMediaFriends
#MayIHumblySuggestYouNotSendGiftsThenTalkS**t.''
Kim, 32, was reacting to Katie's comments to In Touch magazine, when she said: ''I don't understand - why are they so famous? I think it's mostly teenage girls that are interested.''
But the talk show host has defended her comments and told UsMagazine.com: ''I've met Kim before and I think she's a really sweet person. I was responding to a reporter's question, and explaining how I'm intrigued by the public's fascination with her family. I didn't mean to hurt her feelings. The gift is genuine, and I'm happy for Kim and Kanye.''
A source close to Kim said she is fed up of people being fake, saying: ''Kim is so tired of people publicly bashing her yet kissing her ass behind closed doors.''
Kim's sister Khloe voiced her support for her sudden outburst shortly after she bashed Katie, writing: ''God I love this new side of u!''
