Lindsay Lohan, Determined To Prove Critics Wrong, Promises Not To Miss Any West End Shows

Lindsay Lohan is determined to turn over a new leaf and promises she won't miss any shows whilst performing on the West End. The 28-year-old sounded mature and reflective during an interview with the BBC. The actress is due to appear on the West End in David Mamet's Speed-The-Plow, beginning in September.

Lohan is hoping to get her career back on track after her stints in rehab over the past few years and she is determined to make a change. Speaking to the BBC, Lohan assured the interviewer she would not be missing any performances of the play and simply stated, "That's not going to happen. That's not on the cards. It's not. I'm at a place in my life where I like the commitment. I'm looking forward to that part of it."

Lohan also stated that she is excited for the new experience of appearing on stage, as she will not just be making her West End debut at the Playhouse Theatre but also her stage debut. The Mean Girls star said "I think you go through phrases in life when you hit this wall when you want to do something new and experience something different. I think I just am in a place now where this is just a right time."

She further emphasised how she is hoping people will remember she is an actress first and foremost and a "celebrity" purely as a bi-product of her career. Lohan said she hopes "people can focus on the fact that I'm in this industry because I'm an actress, an artist, and not just someone you take photos of."

The Canyons actress also revealed a more vulnerable side and explained how she likes to feel "safe". Lohan implied that she is constantly concerned about fan and media attention, describing the "crazy fascination" with her as "scary". She reiterated on a number of occasions how she feels "almost paranoid" at the constant attention, citing one example: "My friends think I'm neurotic, but I will hear a flash of an iPhone camera, I will hear the shutter from a mile across the room. I will feel it. I'm so used to thinking like that and feeling almost paranoid sometimes and protective of myself now whereas I wasn't in the past."

As for her past, Lohan is adamant that she has learned from it and thus has no regrets. She admitted whilst there were times she found herself in difficult situations, she wouldn't be who she is today. Speaking on the matter, Lohan said: "There are certain things I would change, that I've but myself in bad situations, but I don't regret anything that's happened because I wouldn't be who I am today; I wouldn't have learn the things that I know; I wouldn't be here doing this right now."
