The Cabaret star, 69, was hurt in a fall at her home and she spent three months bedridden after undergoing surgery in September (14).

Now she has revealed doctors advised her the condition was so serious she might never be able to dance on stage again, but the news galvanised the singer/actress into making a full recovery.

She tells Britain's Daily Express newspaper, "It was very painful. I was forced to just lie on my back for three months until it got better. It drove me crazy. I'm a dancer so I knew how to stretch a little. I slowly got back in shape.

"When the doctor said, 'You might never dance again' I was scared to death. I said to myself, 'No way. I WILL be able to dance'. You have to go back into training. I feel marvellous now."
