Man Who Allegedly Broke Into Miley Cyrus' House In December Pleads Not Guilty

A man who allegedly broke into Miley Cyrus' house in December 2014 has entered a not guilty plea whilst appearing in court on Thursday (8th January).

A man who allegedly broke into Miley Cyrus' house has pleaded not guilty.

According to prosecutors, 22-year-old Rusty Sellner broke into the 'Wrecking Ball' singer's home in Toluca Lake on 16th December and stole a significant amount of property from Cyrus and her brother, the Associated Press reports.

Sellner appeared in a Los Angeles court and pleaded not guilty to charges of burglary, grand theft auto and receiving stolen property. Sellner has two previous burglary convictions and was finally arrested on Monday (5th January) for allegedly breaking into 22-year-old Cyrus' house in December.

A preliminary hearing is set for January 20th when Sellner is due to appear at Los Angeles County Superior Court, according to a press release on the Los Angeles District Attorney's website. If Sellner is convicted, he may face jail time of up to 7 years and 8 months.

2014 saw Cyrus' properties burglarised twice. The first time was in May when a couple from Arizona broke into a property she owned in the San Fernando Valley. In addition to stealing clothes, purses and jewellery, the pair also stole a 2014 Maserati from the property. The couple were later jailed.

Despite the legal dealings in court relating to her property, Cyrus has been continuing with life as normal and as usual keeping her fans up to date via Instagram. On Friday (9th January), she helped celebrate her sister Noah's birthday along with their older brother Trace Cyrus.
