Morning Runner Burning Benches Single

This, the band's fourth single is released on the 20th February. I was not much of a fan of Gone Up in Flames and I am afraid to say the same for Burning Benches. However it does actually get better the more it is heard. A heavy Coldplay and David Gray influence is evident throughout the track. Not a fantastic track and nothing to shout about but its better than previous single Gone Up in Flames. The band have previously supported Coldplay and played Glastonbury last year and are currently touring Britain. The downside of this single is the lack of originality. A slow piano intro, then the song builds up into a soft guitar ballad, nothing exciting or extraordinary. A disappointment, especially when the likes of Coldplay and David Grey do a far more superior job of it. Ok for Morning Runner fans.

The Reading rock band Morning Runner, formed in 2003, have produced the single 'Burning Benches' very mellow compared to their usual style, taken from the album 'Wilderness Is Paradise Now' due to be released on the 6th of March.

The leading single for the album opens with light piano and a soft voice, Morning Runner displays emotionally charged lyrics. The track develops pace, easily done when introducing drums and an electric guitar, providing a very passionate energetic performance.

Morning Runner, becomeing increasingly more popular, especially on stage having performed as support for Snow Patrol, Athlete, Ian Brown, The Pogues, Bloc Party, The Music and Coldplay. 'Burning Benches' is scheduled for release on February 20th (Parlophone/Faith & Hope).
