Harris is perfectly comfortable in unconventional roles as he's currently starring in Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Broadway in which he plays an East German transgender woman whose sex change operation has tragically gone wrong. But the actor would relish an opportunity to appear on American Horror Story, and as we all know there are various opportunities on the show to appear in bizarre roles. Sarah Paulson, for instance, is currently filming the season as conjoined twins!
Speaking in an interview with EW, Harris admitted he would love to be in AHS: Freak Show and has even contacted Ryan Murphy about the possibility of being in the series. He stated, "I wrote a letter to Ryan, asking if I could be in it. Even if I wasn't available to be in it! And he never responded." Harris further explained his love of AHS, stating "I just love those series and Coven was fantastic. And to do one that involves any kind of freaks, circus, nonsense is going to be so unsettling to watch."
@ActuallyNPH of course you can be on Freak Show! I have a role I think you'd love.

Harris' appearance in the series may well be a possibility as Murphy, upon hearing Harris' interview, responded via Twitter. He offered Harris a place on the show, writing to Harris, "Of course you can be on Freak Show! I have a role I think you'd love."
Freak Show is set to premiere in October of this year and sees the usual suspects return for the fourth series of the hit FX show. Paulson, who has starred in all four series of the show, is playing Dot and Bette the conjoined twins. Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Frances Conroy, Kathy Bates and Peters' fiancé Emma Roberts are all set to return for the upcoming series.
