You know things are pretty slow in the home-video business when a cheap horror flick that cost $3.5 million to make and earned just $17 million during its entire domestic run ends up at No. 1 on the sales chart. But such is the case with Anchor Bay's Dark Skies, according to Nielsen Videoscan First Alert. (Actual sales figures of home-media releases are not disclosed.) Things were no better on Home Media Magazine's rental chart, were Broken City, starring Mark Wahlberg, Russell Crowe, and Catherine Zeta-Jones topped the list. The film, which reportedly cost about $60 million to make, tanked with just $19.7 million in total revenue.
