Demi Lovato may only be the young age of 21 but the singer has already managed to have a troubling and haunting drug abuse past.

The X-Factor judge confessed all in a recent candid interview with Access Hollywood this past Tuesday (Dec 10th).

Loavto revealed, for the first time, some shocking details about her addiction to the class A drug cocaine and alcohol, as well as suffering from an eating disorder.

"Something I've never talked about before, but with my drug use I could hide it to where I would sneak drugs," she said.

"I couldn't go without 30 minutes to an hour without cocaine and I would bring it on airplanes."

Adding, "I would smuggle it basically and just wait until everyone in first class would go to sleep and I would do it right there. I'd sneak to the bathroom and I'd do it. That's how difficult it got and that was even with somebody [with me], I had a sober companion, somebody who was watching me 24/7 and living with me [and] I was able to hide it from them as well."

The 'Heart Attack' singer hit rock bottom at the age of 19 and her wakeup call came in the form of a soda bottle.

"I was going to the airport and I had a Sprite bottle just filled with vodka and it was just nine in the morning" stated. "I think at 19 years old, I had a moment where I was like, 'Oh my God. that is alcoholic behavior. [It's] no longer, I'm young and rebellious and out having fun, it was, wow, I'm one of those people. I gotta get my s*** together.'"

Lovato checked into rehab in October 2010 and was forced to leave her Disney show 'Sonny With a Chance' as well as the 'Jonas Brothers Live in Concert' tour, at the time she cited "emotional and physical abuse" as the reasons for her withdrawal but this new candid interview reveals the real reasons.

He mother, Dianna also took some of the blame as she said, "I had issues I needed to work on as well because I wasn't setting a good example for her. I had a terrible eating disorder that I had for many, many years and I didn't realize it and I had to face up to the fact that I was suffering as well. And a lot of what [Demi] went through with an eating disorder had to do with what she had seen growing up."

They have both received professional help and are doing much better now.
