Prince William told OneRepublic backstage at the Earthshot Prize that his youngest son, Prince Louis, is one of their fans.
Prince Louis is a fan of One Republic.
The four-year-old royal's father, Prince William, got to meet the 'Counting Stars' hitmakers after they performed at his Earthshot Prize ceremony at the 1,500-capacity Theatre at Mediacorp in Singapore on Tuesday (07.11.23), and he told Ryan Tedder and his bandmates that his youngest son is very familiar with their music.
According to HELLO! online, William told the group: “I can’t thank you enough. You were amazing. What a way to start the show. That was incredible.
“Louis, my youngest, loves your songs."
But the Prince Of Wales confessed Louis' elder brother, 10-year-old Prince George, still prefers veteran rockers AC/DC.
The ceremony was closed by Bastille, who performed their track 'Pompeii' with Freya Ridings and the Voices of Singapore choir, and William - who also has seven-year-old Princess Charlotte with wife Catherine, Princess of Wales - told the group the song had had an emotional impact on the audience.
He said: “You guys blew it away. Honestly, it was incredibly moving, it was very powerful, and I didn’t want it to stop.
"And everyone in front of me was crying. I mean I didn’t see behind me but there were tears everywhere. It was so powerful and a great way to finish the show. So thank you so much.”
William also thanked co-hosts Hannah Waddingham and Sterling K. Brown for taking the helm of the evening.
He told them: “You were brilliant. The chemistry was oozing."
The 'This Is Us' actor replied: “We had a good time. There were a couple of snafus but we made it through.”
William hailed this year's Earthshot prize the "best one yet" and told the winners - Accion Andina, GRST, WildAid Martine Program, S4S Technologies, and Boomitra - he was "so proud" of them and their commitments to the environment.
He added: "I hope you feel the love and support out there. Because that is what is there. It's for all the hard work you've done.
"And many of you have been doing this for a long, long time and have never truly been acknowledged for all the hard work you've put in. So take this moment to really take it in. Everyone is grateful and supports all the hard work you've done.
"The Earthshot Prize is nothing without you guys."
The 41-year-old royal pledged to visit all of the winners, who come from around the world, including China, India, and South America.
He said: "The great thing is I've now got loads of opportunities to go and visit all of you. As each year goes on, I've now got plenty of friends all around the world to go and visit."
