Gemma Arterton Poses At The Hansel And Gretel Premiere

Gemma Arteton Poses For The Paps

Gemma Arteton, looking her usual glamorous self stars opposite handsome Jeremy Renner in the latest big screen adaptation of Brothers Grimm fairytale Hansel and Gretel. Since winning the Empire Award for Best Newcomer for her role as Bond girl, Strawberry Fields in Quantum of Solace, Arteton has struggled to find critical success, apart from a couple Teen Choice nods for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

Despite having played the tough guy in all his movies, including this one, Renner doesn't doesn't consider himself that kind of guy.  "I don't know, like I don't consider myself a badass, so I don't know," he said, answering MTV's questions about what it takes to be a badass. We'd say after appearing in The Hurt Locker, The Avengers, The Bourne Legacy and Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, it's safe to say you're a bad ass.

Tommy Wirkola is a Norwegian filmmaker, and the man behind Dead Snow - the zombie comedy film in which he stars, but also wrote, produced and directed. Sadly, for him, it doesn't look like Hansel And Gretel will do his career any favours. With a pathetic 9% so far on Rotten Tomatoes, and reviews that say things like, "While the film rarely provokes any strenuous eye-rolling, it also can't drum up even the slightest interest in the fate of its characters, let alone suspense," (Variety) don't expect this film to be winning any awards come 2014.
