Another week, another Twitter storm.
These days every minor detail of celebrities’ lives makes news and One Direction’s Liam Payne isn’t having it. Payne was particularly affected after a tweet he sent to Duck Dynasty’s Willie Robertson went viral. Willie is the son of Phil Robertson, aka the Duck Dynasty patriarch, who recently caused an overblown media stir with his homophobic remarks in a GQ interview. In it, he described homosexuality as a “sin” and “not logical.”
Liam Payne is getting fed up with the media pressure.
This week, Liam tweeted his support to Robertson's son, saying: “huge love to you/your family huge respect for your business prosperities and the family values you still all behold. big fan.”
Admittedly, the tweet doesn't explicitly say that Payne is in support of Phil Robertson's views on homosexuality. It was enough proof for some Twitter users, however. According to MTV News, the trouble for Liam started when a gay rights campaigner responded to the tweet, bringing attention to the exchange. A barrage of tweets aimed at Payne followed. The 1D lad’s response was clearly a bit teed off, but still well thought out. In a tweet aimed at his critics, Liam said:
Being a fan of someones show and the way they still hold a family together doesnt mean i am ok with all they say.

Afterwards he took a shot at the media at large, tweeting:
Oh my god can someone literally not be a fan if a show without bring labeled WTf I bought dinner the other day it made a news story
