Reese Witherspoon's 18-year-old daughter Ava Phillippe made her society debut at the glamorous le Bal des Débutantes in Paris on Saturday.

The event took place at the Peninsula Hotel in the French capital where Ava was one of 20 debutantes (and only six Americans) being introduced to society.

As previously reported by Vanity Fair, the 18-year-old wore a breath-taking gown by Giambattista Valli Haute Couture, featuring long sleeves and a voluminous skirt.

Her date for the evening was the 19-year-old Maharaja of Jaipur, Padmanabh Singh - an accomplished polo player who was educated in Britain.

Ava was accompanied by her proud mom Reese and her stepfather, director Jim Toth. It is not known if her father Ryan Phillippe also attended.

The Bal des Débutantes was launched in 1992 by Ophélie Renouard and typically features young women from all around the world who come from notable families. The criteria for an invitation is said to be ‘looks, brains, and famous parents’, however ‘spoiled’ children are not accepted.

The prestigious event has previously seen the debuts of Warren Beatty’s and Annette Bening’s daughter Ella, Sylvester Stallone’s daughter Sophia, Larry David’s daughter Romy and Bruce Willis and Demi Moore's daughter Tallulah.

Ava is currently focusing on her studies, but has been making red carpet appearances with her mom in recent months, causing many to do a double take.

"People come up to her all the time," Reese told E! News in February. "We were at a premiere and they were congratulating her on her performance. She's like, 'I'm not in the movie.'"

When asked if Ava had plans to follow her mom into a movie career Reese teased: "I don't know! You'd have to ask her."
