Zellweger vehemently denied a story attributed to Harvey Weinstein in a new lawsuit that she and other actresses offered "sexual favours" to him for career advancement.
Renee Zellweger has rubbished claims made in a new lawsuit that she gave Harvey Weinstein “sexual favours” in order to boost her career prospects, calling the disgraced producer “full of s***”.
The story stems from a lawsuit filed this week by actress Melissa Sagemiller, which stated that Weinstein used to cite Zellweger’s name in an example of how a sexual relationship with him could help to boost aspiring female actors’ careers.
“Renée Zellweger, Charlize Theron and other actresses gave sexual favours,” the lawsuit claims Weinstein said, along with comments such as: “Don’t you want your career to be more than just this little teen film?”
Renee Zellweger has hit back at claims she once offered Harvey Weinstein "sexual favours"
However, representatives for 48 year old Zellweger have hit back at the truthfulness of the claims made in the suit attributed to Weinstein. “If Harvey said that, he’s full of s***,” a spokesperson told People on Thursday (December 7th).

Theron has not yet commented on these developments, but has previously spoken about the wider culture of sexual abuse and harassment in Hollywood following the streams of allegations about Weinstein and others two months ago.
“The women who have spoken about their abuse are brave and heroic and although I didn’t have a personal experience like this with Harvey Weinstein, I unfortunately cannot say I’m surprised,” she wrote on Instagram recently. “This culture has always existed, not just in Hollywood but across the world.”
Since early October, several dozen women have come forward to allege that Weinstein sexually harassed or assaulted them, including Angelina Jolie, Rose McGowan, Kate Beckinsale and Ashley Judd. Weinstein has denied all allegations of non-consensual sex.
