In the movie, we get a chance to look into the last 15 years of Brent’s life “since his redundancy from his beloved Wernham Hogg.” As a sales rep, Brent makes a livigin selling cleaning products up and down the country, as we saw in the excellent Christmas specials after series 2 of the initial BBC sitcom. But he’s never really given up on his dream of being a rock star, and that’s where we pick up his story once more.

Brent is followed on his self-financed UK tour. He thinks it'll be like Scorsese filming the Rolling Stones, but it turns out to be a "where are they now" documentary. He has to take a few weeks off work and cash in a couple of pension [cheques], because the session musicians in the band are costing him more than he's getting in ticket sales.
