Ricky Gervais is taking his most famous comedy creation to the big screen. David Brent: The Movie, or Life on the Road as it’s actually called, will is currently being developed with BBC Films and goes in to production in 2015.

A Brent movie has been on the cards for a while since Gervais brought the former paper merchant back, first for a Comic Relief sketch + song with Doc Brown, then with a series of ‘Learn Guitar’ videos on YouTube in which he played dubious songs under the pretense that he was teaching.

He’s proving to be one of the U.K’s most enduring characters, is David Brent. And now Ricky Gervais has revealed plans for the erstwhile Wernham Hogg manager to make an on-screen return in the form of a behind the scenes tour.

Learn Guitar with David Brent gave us the chance to learn some tunes

"I think I’ve got something, but I’m still working on it – the music side of it is really a Trojan horse for something else I want to try," Gervais told The Sunday Times in an interview.
