At this week's People's Choice Awards, a number of stars were unable to attend to collect their awards or congratulate their fellow stars on receiving theirs. Rihanna 's absence, though, will be a particular blow to the organisers as she was actually in the neighbourhood - watching the Los Angeles Clippers' basketball match, according to Msn Music UK. Rihanna was nominated in the Favourite Pop Artist category and won the award for Favourite R&B Artist.
Another notable star who failed to attend to collect their awards is Katy Perry, who may well be avoiding the glare of the media spotlight in the wake of her separation from Russell Brand, despite having won five awards. Lady GaGa gave it a miss, too and Kim Kardashian also failed to show to collect her Favourite TV Celebreality Star. The Kardashian family are currently embroiled in a scandal regarding rumors about her sister Khloe having a different father to her and Kourtney, so in some respects, it was unsurprising that she did not attend the event.
One awards ceremony that Rihanna will be attending, however, is the forthcoming Brit awards. It has been announced that she will perform live at the ceremony, along with Coldplay and Adele. Former Oasis songwriter Noel Gallagher is set to perform at the event, as is 'Best British Male' nominee ED SHEERAN.
