Ryan Seacrest wants ''the best'' for Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick.

The 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' executive producer admitted he ''hates'' the fact the couple - who have children Mason, five, Penelope, three, and six-month-old Reign together - have split after nine years together but hopes they made the right decision for one another.

He said: ''Obviously, you hate to see a split with people that you know and a family that you know and love. Hopefully things can work for the best of them.''

And when the 40-year-old star was asked if Scott will now be kicked off the show, Ryan only promised the programme would show ''reality''.

He told 'Today': ''Well the show is reality so whatever happens, happens in real time.''

Meanwhile, an insider has dismissed claims that Kourtney, 36, is considering a reconciliation with Scott, insisting the brunette beauty ''isn't in the mood to even look at'' the 32-year-old star.

It was claimed last week that Scott - who is currently in New York and has ''no plans'' to return to Los Angeles - had checked into rehab but quit after just a few hours, frustrating all those concerned about his wild partying.

A source told E! News: ''It's safe to say that everyone is upset with Scott, including Scott himself.''
