Clark-Neal recounted the horrible incident in which his collagen injection in his lip burst when he appeared on 'This Morning' back in 2012.
Rylan Clark-Neal has recalled the rather gross incident in which he laughed so hard that his lip filler burst while he was being interviewed live on TV several years ago.
The TV star was interviewed on ‘This Morning’ back in 2012, shortly after having been voted off ‘The X Factor’, when the horrifying incident happened and Clark-Neal was left with collagen “dribbling out” the side of his mouth and “half his lip spread across the floor”.
Rylan Clark-Neal recalled the 2012 incident in an excerpt from his new book
Writing in his new memoir ‘The Life of Rylan’, the 27 year old said: “I was really nervous about going on ‘This Morning’, but Phillip [Schofield] and Holly [Willoughby] were brilliant and all I remember is that we just laughed and laughed.”
Clark now has a regular spot on the ITV morning chat show as a celebrity correspondent, and impressed Phillip and Holly enough during his appearance despite the ugly mishap – and it may have been his ability to improvise on the spot and laugh it off that landed him the job, as he details.
“The worst thing happened though. I laughed and laughed SO much my lip burst open and collagen filler started to dribble out. I'd had a bit too much filler put in the week before. The f***ing horror. Live on TV and half my lip was spread across the floor.”
“SOMEHOW it wasn't as awful as it could have been and we continued to laugh at the situation”, he continued. “I joked and said I'd hit my lip on a wall before quickly telling the truth. I remember going into a cosmetic-counter mode and piping up like I was Jackie Stallone: 'I have my lips filled, although mind, you might go off when going through an airport'.”
