Former Saved By The Bell Star Dustin Diamond Has Asked A Judge In Wisconsin To Delay His Jail Time Following A Stabbing Conviction Last Week (Ends26jun15) So He Can File For An Appeal.
The actor, 38, was sentenced to serve four months behind bars after he was convicted of two disorderly conduct misdemeanours and a count of carrying a concealed weapon, after pulling a knife on Casey Smet during a fight in December (14).
Diamond was scheduled to report to jail in Wisconsin on Sunday (28Jun15), but his lawyer filed a motion to delay the sentence, so the star and his legal team have time to file a potential appeal, according to the New York Post.
The actor has also requested permission to leave the state to perform at previously booked gigs while his appeal is pending.
A hearing has been scheduled for Thursday (02Jul15).
