The Original Three Star Wars Movies Have Hit Cinemas In China For The First Time Thanks To Bosses At The Shanghai International Film Festival.
Festival chiefs are screening all six Star Wars films this week (beg15Jun15), giving movie fans the chance to see 1977's Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and The Return of the Jedi on the big screen for the first time.
The three films were banned from release in China when they first came out, but they still have a huge fan base in the country, thanks to bootlegs and pirated copies.
Asked about the development in China during a recent Reddit.com chat with fans, Star Wars icon Peter Mayhew said, "(That's) wonderful news. I hope they enjoy the experience."
