Just what are Gru's trusted Minions up to in the trailer for 'Despicable Me 3'? It seems they are finally getting frustrated that Gru has renounced his evil ways, which makes sense given that they have been following the biggest and baddest villains since the dawn of time.

We wondered how long it would take before the Minions finally rallied against their master's newfound altruism. Yes, he still fires the occasional innocent person into the sky with a vacuum cleaner rocket, but if you watched 2015's 'Minions' you'll know that they need a lot more than that to feel fulfilled as servants of evil.

Gru (Steve Carell), however, has got other things on his mind, not least his flourishing marriage to Anti-Villain League agent Lucy Wilde and the fact that his daughters Margo, Edith and Agnes are growing up. He's just been informed that he has a twin brother named Dru who happens to have a lot more hair than he and a lot more money. He's also (annoying though sometimes it is) a lot more charming, but generally he's a nice person and makes the perfect partner to take down Gru's latest nemesis Balthazar Bratt - an 80s throwback with a love of diamonds and shoulder pads.

Plus, Gru doesn't really have much choice but to involve Dru in his mission, since he is really struggling with money at the moment. So much so that their poverty even becomes apparent to his youngest child Agnes, who sells her unicorn to help her adoptive father out.

Returning director Pierre Coffin is this time joined by his 'Minions' collaborator Kyle Balda as well as Eric Guillon in his directorial debut, having worked as a character designer on all three 'Despicable Me' movies. Series writers Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio also return.

'Despicable Me 3' will be released on June 30th 2017.
