The Judds turned Oprah Winfrey's daytime talk show into a teary affair yesterday (10MAY04) when country star WYNONNA invited her mum NAOMI and sister ashley on the show to talk about her weight problem.
The singer appeared on Oprah's show in February (04), where she announced her plan to slim down from 113 kilograms (250 pounds), and she returned with her family to discuss her slow progress.
But the show quickly turned into a tearjerker when Wynonna and her actress sister shared candid thoughts about their different body images.
Ashley confessed that she was always fighting not to hurt her heavyweight sister's feelings, and constantly struggling with the fact that Wynonna didn't know their fathers were different until she was in her 30s.
The actress said, "I feel upset and perplexed at how to express that she doesn't feel weirdly towards me. Our love is strong enough that we can be different and have our different body types without one of us feeling strange towards the other."
Wynonna revealed, "I think a big issue was, for 30 years, I couldn't figure out why we were so different, but not knowing who my real father was, it set me free.
"I'm never gonna be a runway model. I can sing my butt off but I'm not gonna walk the runway. I couldn't figure out why you (Ashley) were taller and she's just so beautiful."
The show ended with Ashley embracing her sister after she sobbed through a Wynonna performance of Foreigner's I WANNA KNOW WHAT LOVE IS.
