The Plastiscines About Love Album

French rock bands are not something we get that much exposure to, when you hear Plastiscines, they prove to me that I'd like a bit more French rock in my collection.

I'm not usually a fan of girl bands, finding them far too cheesy and manufactured (requiring a stamp from Mattel on them), or they try far too hard to prove that girls can do bands. Plastiscines are neither of these.

Given that Plastiscines seem out to prove that they are far from girly, 'Bitch' seemed a little to obvious for a track, but again I've been proven wrong. It seemed to be trying too hard to send out the right message about the band, but it actually works well for them.

Hooked from the start, I found the album slightly intriguing. A French rock band performing mostly in English, but even the tracks in French I don't always understand are catchy and fun. 'Bitch' and 'Barcelona' stand out as the most powerful. The entire album is fresh, curious, and cool!

Edgy and aggressive vocals mean what they say, and the guitar work is hard and tight. At last something you can really get your teeth into. This is the kind of girl band I like. bye bye to cheesy lyrics and back beats. This is well executed girl rock.
