Producer Jame L Brooks has cast some light on the question
Next year it will be ten years since The Simpsons’ movie graced international cinema screens and, amazingly, one of the show’s producers has hinted that the animated cartoon could be releasing a second movie at some point.
The Simpsons could be heading out for a second time to the big screen
The Simpsons Movie was a hit with fans and critics alike raking in over $525 million (£345 million) at the box office worldwide in 2007 and executive producer, James L Brooks has discussed the possibility of a sequel.
Speaking to LRM Online, Brooks was asked whether there could be a second premiere outing.
He said: "Fox very much wants us to do another one and maybe we will and maybe we won’t - that’s where it is.
"How do we divide our labours and do we believe in the idea we have? We may go into a more active exploration of a second movie soon."
This isn’t the first time a producer has given a similarly vague answer about everyone’s favourite yellow family with Al Jean previously revealing they "talk about it".
He said: "We talk about it but, if we do it, we only want to do it if it’s going to be really good. We would never do it just to cash in, so if it come out it’s because we believe in it."
