Ellen DeGeneres' star-studded Oscar 'sefie' may have been the best photo in the world, until now. 'The Simpsons' attempted to recreate their own version of the photo, which broke the record for most ever retweets, and added one of their own biggest stars.

The snap was shared on 'The Simpsons' official Twitter account, and the caption read, "@TheEllenShow Oscar® Selfie: A wider view. #thesimpsons."

It certainly was a 'wider view' as this version included the whole of Jared Leto and not just his eye, like in the original. An addition to their pic is of Homer Simpson, but it seems Bradley Cooper wasn't keen on his involvements as he pushes Homer out of the shot with his foot.

"The ugly true story of that Oscar® selfie can finally be told!" the cartoon family's patriarch tweeted. "Let's break Twitter again."

He also added, "Look for Bart," which hints at another addition, but only part of his son's is showing, it is up to the audience to find him.

The photo has also been retweeted by some of the stars in the original shot, Kevin Spacey wrote, "U think @HomerJSimpson had it bad? I was standing on @JohnStamos head!"

And Jared Leto, who won Best Supporting Actor for his role in 'Dallas Buyers Club', also got in the act, tweeting-"I've officially joined @TheSimpsons!"

'The Simpsons' twitpic has already been retweeted 53,000 times as of this current moment, but it still has a long way to catch up to Ellen's photo which has been retweeted a record 3.27 million times.

The Oscar 'selfie' was shared among social media users that much, it caused Twitter to shut down, and Ellen quickly told the audience at last Sunday's (March 2nd) Oscar's, "We crashed Twitter."
