The 41 year-old actor suffered a deep laceration on the right side of his torso after being punched, kicked and then stabbed by an unknown man, according to a police report obtained by the Washington Post.

The assault, in which Glover quickly ended up on the floor after being struck to the back of the head by a second individual, occurred inside Café Asia at 1720 I Street, Northwest. Although there hasn't been an update on the '12 Year's A Slave' actor's current condition, it is understood that the injuries sustained were not life threatening.

Glover reportedly said that he was kicked multiple times before feeling an intense pain in the right side of his stomach, at which point he heard someone shout "He has a knife."

The actor was rushed to George Washington University Hospital to receive treatment for the deep cut, but he still doesn't have any idea what provoked the attack in the first place. Glover's rep told E!News, "He has no idea who did it, or why."

The spokesperson also told TMZ that Anwan appreciates all the concern, love and support he has received from the general public, adding, "It's helping him get through this."

Glover, who played tough gangster Slim Charles in 'The Wire,' isn't a stranger to violent attacks as he was reportedly shot 13 times as his youth in Columbia Heights, and his older brother died after being gunned down back in 2007.
