With a long awaited debut album in the bag ready for release, it would seem that This Et Al are on the brink of big things. If the album is billed as 'harsh and passionate journey into the paranoia of the new post millennial underclasses' it is no surprise to find that Of National Importance is a dark, brooding slice of the album. Passionate, velvety and exotic, this is a fresh new sound for tired, jaded ears. Flip side, The Mother Position is a rockier, heavier affair, like a complicated and anxious version of Muse. Melodies soar over tribal rhythms and passions are worn openly. Dark and uneasy, but oh so tasty.
