The Taxi star opened up about the 1993 drama during an episode of The Dr. Oz Show, revealing he was still dealing with the loss of his mum when he was forced to face his own mortality just six months later after hitting a tree on the slopes in Utah.

Danza suffered injuries including a punctured lung and a broken back, and he began to cry as he talked about his physical and emotional pain to host Mehmet Oz.

He said, "I lost my mother in June, it was the first Christmas and I had her in my mind... I'm so sorry... Every Christmas you go through this thing where you miss the people who aren't there anymore... I'm sorry folks, I didn't mean for this to (happen). I'm just a bit of a crybaby."

The interview airs in the U.S. on Wednesday (18Mar15).
