Elton John and Dua Lipa reunite for the second time this year as Reg Dwight's favourite collaborators PNAU give a few of his songs a fresh remix as 'Cold Heart'. Dua and Elton last exchanged songs and swapped vocals for EJ's Oscars party earlier this year. This time around John's long time friends PNAU have given some of his classic cuts an antipodean electro makeover with Dua joining in on the action for added value.
'Cold Heart' sees PNAU take some of Elton's seminal songs and give them a contemporary mix with both John and Dua taking on vocal duties on the disco infused arrangement. 'Sacrifice', 'Kiss The Bride' 'Where's the Shoorah?' and the most memorable hit of all, 'Rocket Man', are seamlessly fused together by the Australian's who worked on EJ's remixed album 'Good Morning To The Night' back in 2012.
In the Raman Djafari animated video some of Elton John's iconic looks are brought to life on the screen. His white suit and boater from the 'I'm Still Standing Video', his platform shoes from his 70's heyday and the green suit and hat he wore when he was presented with his own star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame back in 1975.
Dua Lipa's smooth vocals add a new dimension to the beloved songs and quite remarkably, given their illustrious status, give them a whole new lease of life. On the day of it's release Dua Lipa tweeted, "COLD HEART with @eltonofficial is YOURS NOW!! (@pnau remix) - Elton you are my friend and my hero and I never thought i’d be able to ever say that in a sentence. Thank you for all your love and support. Grateful to make music with you in this life."
