Looking To The Future

Though all eyes of the world are currently on Britain as a hub of style innovation, last night's awards showed that this is a trend that is set to continue and only intensify. Young designer Simone Rocha was named Emerging Womenswear Designer for her promising talent in the competitive sector whilst design duo Agi & Sam received the Emerging Menswear Designer award after a break-through year that saw their first London Fashion Week Show.

The British Fashion Awards 2013 was voted for by a panel of 300 industry experts, including journalists, buyers, and other key influencers such as Anna Wintour OBE, Laura Bailey, Glenda Bailey OBE, Alex Bilmes, Tim Blanks, Joan Burstein CBE, Alison Edmond, Edward Enninful and Poppy Delevingne.

The awards weren't only lip-service to the country's fashion industry though: the red carpet bore tribute to the legions of British design talent, from Erdem to Christopher Kane to Burberry.
