Executives at NBC severed ties with the business mogul following ill-advised remarks he made about Mexican immigrants in America during his U.S. presidential campaign launch last month (Jun15), and pulled the plug on plans to cover his Miss USA pageant, which took place on Sunday (12Jul15).

The TV bosses didn't want to dump his hit show, however, and they are now looking to replace Trump as host.

A source tells the New York Post, "There have been initial conversations with George Lopez's representatives, and, given Donald Trump's crazy comments, George would be the perfect loud response to Trump."

A second source adds, "It could be a smart move by NBC to cast George as Trump's replacement, and it would also bring diversity to the network. The talks are in the very early stages."

The Mexican-American actor/comedian is not the only host bosses are looking at - they are also reportedly considering Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, Sir Richard Branson and Martha Stewart.
